Train
Amtrak provides train service to Hudson from New York City and other points in the Northeast. The Amtrak station is located in downtown Hudson, about 1 mile from the WGXC studio.
The Amtrak trip to Hudson takes around 2 hours. Trains leave every few hours and fares range from $60-120 round trip depending on your travel times.
MTA MetroNorth travels to Poughkeepsie, NY which is an hour away from Hudson. Trains leave once an hour and fares are $28-39 roundtrip. (Buy your tickets online or at the station before boarding, and travel at offpeak hours for lower fares.)
Please see section below on Airport/Train Shuttles for information about getting from Poughkeepsie to Hudson. We will be able to pick people up in Poughkeepsie on a limited schedule, but we encourage you to take the Amtrak directly to Hudson if possible.
Bus
Bus service to Albany is provided by Greyhound and Megabus (from New York City only). From Downtown Albany there is a shuttle to Hudson, which picks up a few blocks from the Greyhound station. The shuttle costs $5.50 and runs only twice a day. See this website for more details: http://coxsackietransport.com/
The Megabus from NYC takes 2 hours and 45 minutes. Roundtrip fares range from $20-40 and will go up as the date approaches.
Car
From Interstate 87 take exit 21 to NY 23E, to NY 9G to Hudson. Hudson is about 2 ½ hours from New York City by car, though be warned that there is a bridge out on Route 9G two miles north of Germantown, and the road is closed (there is a detour).
Check out the rideshare board to find a friend to bring you to Hudson: WGXC Barnraising Rideshare! If you are driving and are able to bring passengers, please post to the rideshare board. Any questions about using the board can go to katie@prometheusradio.org.
